Staff Engineer
Wolt is seeking a Staff Engineer to join our AdTech & Promotions team, focusing on developing systems that empower restaurants and brands to grow on our platform. Since our inception in 2014, we've expanded to over 500 cities across 30 countries, and in 2022, we joined forces with DoorDash to continue our global growth. This role is based in London and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our mission of delivering joy and simplicity to neighborhoods worldwide.
As a Staff Engineer, you will drive the technical vision and architecture for Wolt’s AdTech and Promotions platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability, and high performance. Your responsibilities will include providing technical leadership across multiple teams and projects, contributing to backend services, data pipelines, and advertiser-facing tools. You will design and evolve systems that support campaign execution, targeting, ranking, allocation, and reporting in real-time or near real-time environments. Collaboration with engineering, product, and data stakeholders will be essential to align priorities and improve campaign performance.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing and scaling large distributed systems in production environments, with a strong understanding of system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance optimization. Experience with data-intensive and real-time systems is crucial. Familiarity with AdTech concepts such as targeting, ranking, attribution, or experimentation is a strong plus. While many of our services are written in Kotlin and Go, we are looking for someone who is language-agnostic and can adapt quickly to new technologies.
