Staff Risk Analyst
The Staff Risk Analyst at EarnIn is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the company's fraud risk management. This position involves close collaboration with the Chief Risk Officer and cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product, Compliance, and Fraud Operations, to develop and implement comprehensive fraud prevention strategies. EarnIn is a financial technology company dedicated to providing real-time financial flexibility to individuals living paycheck to paycheck, offering services that allow users to access their earnings as they earn them without mandatory fees, interest rates, or credit checks.
Key responsibilities include managing the entire fraud policy lifecycle, encompassing identity verification, account opening, deposits, card transactions, and other critical monetary actions. The analyst will proactively identify emerging fraud vectors, redesign controls to mitigate potential losses, and support Anti-Money Laundering (AML) rule design and governance in partnership with Financial Crimes Compliance. Additionally, the role involves defining long-term fraud strategies, leading cross-functional fraud initiatives, and serving as the primary escalation point during fraud incidents and account takeover attacks.
The ideal candidate will have over seven years of experience in fraud analytics within fintech or consumer financial products. A strong background in SQL is essential, along with proficiency in tools such as Tableau and Databricks for building fraud monitoring dashboards. Experience with external fraud platforms like Visa Risk Manager or Socure is highly desirable. The candidate should possess a deep understanding of credit card program operations, including transaction lifecycles, authorization and decline flows, dispute and chargeback processes, and the relationships between card networks, issuing banks, and program managers. Strong leadership skills, the ability to lead cross-functional programs without formal authority, and excellent communication skills are also required.
This remote position offers a competitive salary range of $170,000 to $210,000, along with equity and benefits.
