Staff Security Engineer
Mozilla is seeking a Staff Security Engineer to join our Infrastructure team, focusing on monitoring and mitigating security incidents across our products and services. This role is integral to maintaining the integrity of Mozilla's offerings and ensuring user safety within a company dedicated to building a more secure internet.
The successful candidate will identify and respond to security incidents on a global scale, act as an incident commander throughout the response lifecycle, and design and maintain security alerts, automated actions, playbooks, and escalation workflows. Responsibilities also include conducting threat hunting activities, researching threat intelligence reports, and collaborating with key stakeholders to continuously improve incident response processes.
Applicants should have over five years of experience managing security incidents globally or working in Security Operations Centers (SOC), Product Security Incident Response Teams (PSIRT), or Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRT). Expertise with SIEM systems (e.g., ELK, Google BigQuery, Splunk), integrating threat intelligence for detection engineering, and proficiency with security orchestration and automation platforms like Tines or Splunk SOAR are required. Strong communication and leadership skills, along with practical experience in software development or engineering operations, are essential.
