Staff Software Engineer - Frontend Telemetry (Remote across ANZ)

Canva is seeking a Staff Software Engineer specializing in Frontend Telemetry to join their Product Insights Enablement (PIE) group. This role focuses on developing a new frontend telemetry SDK to capture behavioral, performance, and reliability signals at scale, thereby enhancing product quality and user experience across the company.

Key responsibilities include leading the design and implementation of the telemetry SDK, shaping the technical direction of frontend telemetry, collaborating with various stakeholders to address measurement challenges, building intuitive frontend experiences to surface telemetry insights, driving the company-wide rollout of the new SDK, partnering with the Reliability Platform team to improve monitoring and alerting capabilities, fostering a network of measurement-focused experts, and mentoring engineers to uphold measurement excellence.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in browser-based frontend telemetry, experience designing systems that provide actionable insights, a track record of mentoring and providing technical guidance, the ability to drive strategic technical direction, and confidence in leading technical presentations and discussions.
