Strategic Deal Desk Manager - APJ
Canva is seeking a Strategic Deal Desk Manager to join our Finance team, focusing on the Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) region. This role is integral to our Global Deal Desk, acting as a strategic partner to Regional Sales Account Executives and Leaders. As Canva continues to scale, the complexity and volume of deals are increasing, making this position crucial in navigating diverse markets, partner-led motions, and region-specific go-to-market models.
The Strategic Deal Desk Manager will lead the structuring and pricing of complex and non-standard deals, ensuring a balance between commercial creativity and compliance with revenue recognition policies and financial guidelines. Collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders—including Sales, Legal, Finance, Revenue Recognition, Support, and Product teams—the role involves aligning on deal terms and resolving challenges in a scalable, solutions-oriented manner. Additionally, the manager will serve as a subject matter expert on advanced deal structures, commercial models, and regional policy nuances, advising on partner-led motions and multi-entity contracting.
Candidates should possess 7–10 years of experience in Deal Desk, Finance, Commercial Strategy, or related fields, ideally within the SaaS industry and with regional go-to-market exposure. Strong expertise in structuring complex SaaS and professional services deals, including multi-year, multi-entity, and partner-led transactions, is essential. Hands-on experience supporting APJ go-to-market teams, with fluency in regional contracting nuances and compliance considerations, is highly desirable. A solid grounding in revenue recognition principles and their impact on deal design, along with a strong understanding of SaaS commercial terms and conditions, is required. The ideal candidate will be a clear, structured communicator who can synthesize complexity, align stakeholders, and drive decision-making in fast-moving environments.
