Structural - Bridge Technical Manager
Benesch is seeking a Structural-Bridge Technical Manager to lead and oversee the planning and design of transportation structures projects within our Illinois Structural group. This role offers the opportunity to serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance to staff and contributing to the growth and success of the team. The position is based in either our Chicago, IL, or Naperville, IL offices, with a hybrid work schedule.
The Structural-Bridge Technical Manager will mentor and direct staff in advancing their technical skills while executing projects. Responsibilities include managing technical aspects of projects, determining necessary analyses, and selecting the most practical approaches. The role involves performing, reviewing, and managing technical analysis and design, ensuring the completeness of design details, and adhering to internal procedures for quality control, documentation, and project tracking. Additionally, the manager will contribute as a technical specialist or advisor and provide input into the growth of the practice.
Candidates must possess a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural) and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering (Structural). An SE License in Illinois is required, along with a minimum of 8 years' experience in structural engineering with a transportation focus. Preferred experience includes work with IDOT, ISTHA, and CDOT. Advanced knowledge of relevant software and applicable codes and standards is essential. Proficiency in MicroStation is required, and experience in 3D bridge modeling and construction engineering services is highly desirable.
The expected compensation range for this position is $130,000 to $160,000 annually.
