Structural Designer

Benesch is seeking a Structural Designer to join our Civil team in Raleigh, NC. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse transportation projects in collaboration with state and local agencies. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the design and analysis of structural elements, supporting our mission to enhance infrastructure and communities nationwide.

In this position, you will perform basic analyses of project components, develop load calculations, and design structural elements. Responsibilities include preparing organized structural calculations, drafting detailed structural components, and ensuring task deliverables are complete and reviewable. You will work independently under the guidance of a Project Manager, adhering to project schedules and budgets.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis or related discipline. An Engineer Intern (EI) certification or the ability to obtain one is required. We are looking for individuals with 0 to 2+ years of structural design experience, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in developing plans and specifications using MicroStation. Strong organizational and leadership abilities, along with the capacity to perform complex analyses and assemble comprehensive design packages, are essential.
