Benesch is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join our expanding Structural team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role involves collaborating on transportation projects with state and local agencies, contributing to the enhancement of infrastructure and communities. As a project engineer, you will be integral to our mission of creating spaces and providing connections that make a difference.

In this position, you will collect and assimilate data to perform modeling, analysis, and design calculations for various project elements. Responsibilities include drafting design details under supervision, computing quantities with an understanding of their relationship to pay items, organizing calculations in accordance with project standards, coordinating drafting efforts, and conducting field or site visits as necessary. Additionally, you will develop a foundational knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and software tools such as CADD and Microsoft applications.

The ideal candidate will possess a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline and hold a Professional Engineer (PE) License in Wisconsin or have the ability to obtain one through reciprocity. A Certified Bridge Safety Inspector (CBSI) certification is preferred but not required. A minimum of 8 years of experience in design, load rating, and inspection is essential, along with experience working with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) and/or municipalities. Strong communication and client relation skills are crucial, as is progressive experience with developing contracts and utilizing software such as MicroStation Connects, Open Roads, and Open Bridge Design.
