Structural Project Engineer
Benesch is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join their Illinois division in Chicago. This role involves collaborating with a team of professionals to analyze, inspect, load rate, and design bridge structures. The position offers a flexible work schedule, combining in-office and remote work.
Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing structural and geometric calculations for bridge rehabilitation and design projects, developing finite element analysis models, and compiling plans, specifications, cost estimates, and pay items in accordance with DOT standards. The engineer will also be responsible for ensuring quality control through independent reviews and coordinating tasks with project or technical managers.
Candidates should possess a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, with an M.S. preferred. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred, along with an Illinois Structural Engineer (SE) license or a plan to obtain one. A minimum of five years of experience in bridge inspection, analysis, load rating, and/or design is required.
