Supporting Tech Lead - Maritime
Helsing is seeking a dynamic engineer with comprehensive experience in Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) design to join our maritime team. As a Supporting Tech Lead, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our cutting-edge marine products, such as the SG-1 Fathom and the Lura AI system, which are integral to ensuring oceanic security. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the protection of democratic societies through technological innovation.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the production pathway, ensuring designs are ready for manufacturing, assembly, and testing from the outset. You will manage design documentation, version control, and assembly instructions to facilitate consistent production across multiple units. Additionally, you will support supplier selection and qualification, drive the transition from prototype to production-ready builds, and coordinate the integration and testing of various subsystems, including flight controllers, edge computing, and sensor arrays.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building, integrating, testing, and deploying complex electromechanical systems. You should possess strong systems-level decision-making skills across mechanical, electrical, and embedded software domains. Technical decisiveness, the ability to operate at startup speed, and collaborative communication skills are essential. Experience with prototype-to-production transitions, direct UUV, AUV, or underwater glider experience, and familiarity with buoyancy-driven platforms or underwater propulsion systems are highly desirable.
