Systems Architect - Electronic Warfare
As the Systems Architect for Electronic Warfare at Helsing, you will lead the development of advanced electronic warfare capabilities for airborne platforms. Helsing is a defense AI company dedicated to protecting democracies through technological leadership, ensuring that open societies can make sovereign decisions and uphold ethical standards. You will be part of an ambitious team of engineers and AI specialists committed to solving complex and impactful problems in defense technology.
In this role, you will own the end-to-end electronic warfare architecture for airborne platforms, defining threat-driven capability roadmaps, system partitioning, and integration strategies across sensors. Your responsibilities include translating operational scenarios into verifiable system requirements, architecting the complete sensor-to-effector kill chain, and leading multi-sensor fusion between RF and EO/IR systems. Additionally, you will drive digital engineering efforts, define test and evaluation strategies, and manage technical trade-offs with internal teams and external suppliers.
The ideal candidate holds a relevant degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field. You should have experience in electronic warfare or mission systems architecture for airborne platforms, with end-to-end ownership. Proficiency in converting threat-driven scenarios into electronic warfare requirements and KPIs, designing operational concepts and autonomous behaviors, and leading safety and assurance considerations for autonomous electronic warfare actions is essential. Strong multi-sensor fusion experience and the ability to manage supplier technical governance are also required.
Helsing offers a focus on outcomes rather than time-tracking, competitive compensation and stock options, relocation support, social and education allowances, and regular company events to foster team cohesion across Europe. Joining Helsing means contributing directly to the protection of democratic countries while engaging in unique engineering and AI challenges that have a meaningful global impact. The company encourages healthy, proactive, and diverse debates internally, promoting responsible autonomy and critical thinking among its team members.
