Systems Engineer - Command and Control (Air)
As a Systems Engineer specializing in Command and Control (Air) at Helsing, you will be integral to a team developing advanced C2 capabilities for autonomous fighter jets. Helsing is a defense AI company committed to protecting democracies through technological leadership, ensuring open societies maintain sovereign decisions and ethical standards.
In this role, you will oversee the entire systems engineering lifecycle, from initial concept and architectural design to final system deployment. Key responsibilities include defining and managing system architecture in compliance with military standards, integrating and validating hardware, software, and communication components, managing relationships with industry partners and suppliers, and developing essential technical documentation such as system specifications and test plans.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A proven track record in designing and developing aircraft systems, with hands-on experience in systems engineering and integration, is essential. Excellent communication skills are required to effectively present complex technical information to both internal and external stakeholders. The role requires on-site work at the Tussenhausen (Unterallgäu) location 2-3 days per week.
Helsing offers a focus on outcomes rather than time-tracking, competitive compensation and stock options, relocation support, social and education allowances, and regular company events to foster team cohesion across Europe.
Joining Helsing means contributing directly to the protection of democratic countries while engaging in unique engineering and AI challenges. The company encourages proactive and diverse debate, trusts teams and individual engineers to practice responsible autonomy and critical thinking, and focuses on outcomes over conformity. Employees have a say in how the company operates and the opportunity to take ownership of aspects of the culture they care deeply about.
