Technical Advisor, Intellectual Property

Carvana is seeking a Technical Advisor to join its Intellectual Property team at the corporate headquarters in Tempe, Arizona. This role involves close collaboration with engineers, product developers, technology leaders, and the broader legal team to support Carvana's innovative automotive retail solutions.

The Technical Advisor will be responsible for participating in patent-related protection and prosecution efforts, including working directly with engineering teams to identify and articulate innovations for potential filings. Additionally, the role includes assisting with pre-litigation and litigation needs, such as patent claims and discovery matters, as well as contributing to AI governance and policy development.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience, along with 3-5 years of experience in software development across one or more programming languages. Proficiency in enterprise software architecture, including microservices, event-driven systems, and cloud data platforms, is essential. Experience with patent litigation or prosecution, or providing technical analysis in intellectual property matters, is also required.
