Technical Director, Embedded Vehicle Software
Wayve is seeking a Technical Director for Embedded Vehicle Software to lead the architecture of our next-generation autonomy platform. This role involves working with advanced embedded compute platforms from NVIDIA, Qualcomm, and other partners to develop scalable, efficient, and safe vehicle software systems. As a hands-on technical leader, you will directly influence system performance and reliability, while collaborating with internal teams and external partners to drive the adoption of modern development practices.
Key responsibilities include designing and evolving the embedded software architecture, developing prototypes to demonstrate architectural decisions, analyzing and optimizing system performance, and mentoring senior engineers. You will also represent Wayve in technical discussions with OEMs and silicon partners, ensuring our software meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience in software and systems engineering, with strong expertise in embedded systems for robotics, automotive, or similar domains. Proficiency in C/C++ is essential, along with familiarity in Python or Rust. A proven track record of delivering large-scale systems to production, expertise in system performance analysis, and experience leading through technical influence are also required.
