Technical Recruiting Manager, Software Engineering
Waymo is seeking a Technical Recruiting Manager to lead and develop a global team of over 10 recruiters. This role involves setting clear KPIs, providing continuous feedback, and supporting career growth within the team. The manager will forecast hiring needs and dynamically allocate resources across the U.S. and international hubs to meet ambitious engineering roadmaps. Additionally, the role includes standardizing recruitment workflows globally while allowing for necessary regional adaptations.
Key responsibilities include acting as a subject matter expert on technical talent trends, compensation benchmarks, and competitor movements in primary hubs. The manager will partner with Marketing to localize the employer value proposition for engineers both in the U.S. and internationally. Serving as a strategic advisor to the VP of Engineering and director-level direct reports, the manager will provide regular updates on hiring health and market blockers. Utilizing ATS data to track funnel metrics and overseeing relationships with external agencies and technical assessment platforms are also essential duties.
Candidates should have over 8 years of experience in talent acquisition, with at least 4 years specifically supporting engineering or technical organizations. A minimum of 3 years managing a team of at least 5 direct reports in a high-growth environment is required. A proven track record of hiring in international markets, including knowledge of local labor laws and cultural hiring nuances, is essential. The ability to understand technical concepts such as backend architectures, machine learning practices, and frontend frameworks is necessary. Additionally, candidates should possess expert-level ability to turn raw hiring data into compelling narratives for executive leadership.
The expected base salary range for this full-time position is between $196,000 and $248,000 USD annually. Actual starting pay will be based on factors such as exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
