Technical Sourcing Manager
The Technical Sourcing Manager at Graphcore is a pivotal role within the Supply Chain team, reporting directly to the Procurement Manager. This position is integral to the company's mission of advancing artificial intelligence compute technologies. The successful candidate will be based in Bristol, UK, and will collaborate closely with team members in both Bristol and Taiwan to develop and maintain a robust manufacturing subcontract supply chain.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with the engineering team to identify and source essential electrical commodities and critical components such as capacitors, resistors, memory, PCBs, and cabling. The role involves managing purchase orders and deliveries, negotiating and expediting production components to support new product introduction builds, and researching and qualifying new suppliers to expand the supply base. Additionally, the Technical Sourcing Manager will drive cost reduction initiatives, manage complex multi-layer bills of materials, monitor supplier performance, and ensure accurate bill of materials cost updates.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical or electronics background with experience in electrical engineering component sourcing. A degree or HNC in an engineering or technical subject is required, along with experience in budgeting and cost control within complex environments. Advanced knowledge of cost management techniques, proficiency in Excel, and familiarity with MS Office and ERP systems are essential.
