Technical Support Engineer (Remote/West Coast)
Tenable, Inc. is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join their team remotely on the West Coast. As a leader in Exposure Management, Tenable provides organizations with tools to understand and reduce cyber risk. The Technical Support Engineer will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between Tenable's products and customers, offering exceptional support for cutting-edge vulnerability assessment and compliance auditing software.
In this role, the engineer will work closely with teams such as Sales, Customer Advocacy, Research & Development, and Operations. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting and addressing customer technical inquiries, analyzing vulnerability scan results, system audits, and log events, and providing clear, actionable information to resolve issues promptly. The engineer will also recreate customer software issues in a lab environment for engineering assessment and ensure customer feedback is captured and communicated to Product Management and Research & Development.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience, with at least 2 years of professional experience in networking (TCP/IP), Linux/Unix, macOS, Windows administration, patch deployment, and system configuration. Experience in providing technical support to enterprise clients and troubleshooting complex issues in production or customer environments is essential. A demonstrated interest in AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), with hands-on experience, is also desired. Knowledge of computer, network, and application security, as well as familiarity with Nessus or similar tools, is advantageous.
