Transportation Project Manager (Civil)
Benesch is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transportation Project Manager to join our Michigan Transportation group in East Lansing, MI. This role involves leading project teams in the planning and design of infrastructure projects, with a focus on roadways, highways, and civil site design. As part of an established engineering team, the Project Manager will collaborate with various transportation clients and contribute to the development of comprehensive turnkey projects.
Key responsibilities include self-performing and directing project teams, providing design support for projects such as roadways, driveways, sidewalks, traffic maintenance, drainage, pavement markings, and roadway scoping. The role requires collaboration with disciplines such as hydraulic, traffic, structures, and environmental engineering to ensure project success. Additionally, the Project Manager will play a crucial role in nurturing client relationships and ensuring the delivery of high-quality designs.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or higher, with over 10 years of progressive experience in designing and delivering Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) projects. A Michigan Professional Engineer (PE) license is required, along with experience as a project manager or lead roadway engineer on MDOT projects. Proficiency in MicroStation and Open Roads Designer, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills, are essential.
