US Lawyer (iWills & iWaqf)
The US Lawyer will lead the legal development and establishment of Wahed’s US private client offering, focusing on Wills, probate, trusts, estate administration, tax planning, and Islamic legacy planning. This role involves designing and launching a legally compliant, client-focused, and scalable US estate planning service under the iWill brand. The successful candidate will contribute directly to Wahed’s mission of making faith-aligned financial and legacy planning accessible to Muslim communities.
Key responsibilities include advising on legal structures, licensing requirements, and state-specific regulations for launching estate planning services in the US. The role involves developing and delivering legal services related to Wills, probate, estate administration, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and broader estate planning matters. Additionally, the lawyer will support the development of Shariah-conscious estate planning solutions that align with US legal requirements and Islamic inheritance principles.
The ideal candidate holds a Juris Doctor degree and an active license to practice law in at least one US state. Membership in relevant trusts and estates professional bodies or estate planning councils is preferred. Strong experience in Wills, estate planning, probate, estate administration, trusts, and private client advisory is essential. A good understanding of US estate tax, gift tax, trust structures, inheritance planning, and succession matters is also required.
