Wayve is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our Vehicle Software Engineering team in Yokohama, Japan. As a leader in Embodied AI technology, Wayve develops advanced AI software and foundation models that enable vehicles to perceive, understand, and navigate complex environments, enhancing the usability and safety of automated driving systems. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the forefront of autonomous vehicle technology, ensuring the robustness and resilience of our AI-driven systems.

In this position, you will be responsible for guaranteeing the seamless operation of our autonomous vehicles on public roads, thereby enhancing our ability to transform urban mobility. You will drive the development of cutting-edge tools and automation to streamline operations, from first-line support enhancements to fleet management. Additionally, you will develop key metrics and monitoring/logging systems that preempt problems and promote rapid resolution, ensuring the highest levels of performance and reliability.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in Site Reliability Engineering or a similar role, especially in a production environment. Expertise in Python, C++, or Rust is essential, along with a solid foundation in cloud computing platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. Proficiency with monitoring and troubleshooting utilities like DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Splunk, or Humio is required. Exceptional problem-solving skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and outstanding communication abilities are also crucial.

This full-time role is based in our Yokohama office, with a hybrid working policy that combines time in the office and workshops to fuel innovation, culture, relationships, and learning, along with time spent working from home. The position includes participation in a team on-call rotation, providing out-of-hours support for live systems when required.
