Tango Therapeutics is seeking an innovative and collaborative leader to serve as Vice President, Safety and Pharmacovigilance. This individual will provide strategic direction and day-to-day leadership for the Medical Safety Science function. The role involves managing the Pharmacovigilance team and guiding the company's safety strategy, supporting global regulatory interactions, contributing to portfolio governance, and informing long-term planning. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical knowledge, broad pharmacovigilance expertise, and the ability to work effectively across teams and with external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include leading and overseeing all pharmacovigilance and risk management activities for Tango's clinical programs. The role involves developing and executing comprehensive safety science strategies for oncology drug development programs from preclinical through post-market surveillance. The individual will provide safety expertise and risk-benefit assessments to support go/no-go decisions for oncology programs and represent Tango in interactions with health authorities, including preparing and presenting safety data in regulatory meetings. Additional duties encompass overseeing signal detection, safety surveillance, and benefit-risk assessments, implementing risk mitigation strategies as needed, and directing the preparation and review of key safety documents, including DSURs, SUSARs, periodic and annual safety reports, and regulatory communications.

The position requires an MD and over 10 years of experience in pharmacovigilance, safety science, or related roles within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry. A deep understanding of oncology drug development, including novel therapies such as immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and cell therapy, is essential. Strong strategic thinking and business acumen, along with excellent communication skills to present complex safety data to various stakeholders, are necessary. Expertise in global pharmacovigilance regulations, safety surveillance, reporting, and risk management strategies is required, as well as experience with regulatory authority interactions, safety database applications, and safety signal detection methodologies. The candidate should possess strong leadership skills with a proven track record of building and managing safety teams and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while maintaining a strong commitment to ethical standards.

The salary range for this position is $311,200 to $466,800 per year.
