Visual Designer
Canonical is seeking a Visual Designer to join its central Design team, focusing on Brand and Design Systems. This role involves collaborating with a diverse group of design professionals to evolve brand guidelines and apply them to communication materials, UI design systems, and digital product graphics. The position is remote, based in the EMEA region, and offers the opportunity to impact millions of engineers, enterprises, entrepreneurs, and consumers daily.
Key responsibilities include working on various projects to refine and implement brand guidelines across different platforms. The designer will create clear, stylish presentations that enhance user experience, ensuring that real content and information are at the core of all designs. A deep understanding of design principles, usability, accessibility, and web standards is essential.
Candidates should have an exceptional academic track record, with an undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling alternative path. The role requires confidence in exchanging feedback and sharing ideas, a history of exceeding expectations, leadership qualities, and a commitment to skills development and mentorship. A passion for technology, evidenced by personal projects and initiatives, is also important. Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, accountability, and the ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events are necessary.
