Workup & Settlement Attorney
Keller Postman is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Workup & Settlement Attorney to join our case management team. This role focuses on preparing mass tort cases for settlement, guiding clients through the offer process, and collaborating with legal assistants and other team members. The position is remote and offers an annual salary range of $100,000 to $120,000, depending on experience, along with a year-end discretionary performance bonus and benefits.
Key responsibilities include collaborating closely with the case management team to evaluate decision points such as reviewing notes, medical records, and related documentation to determine case progression. The attorney will manage client interactions during the offer process, ensuring clear communication and support throughout. Additionally, the role involves coordinating with Case Managers, legal assistants, and other team members to execute casework efficiently and effectively. The attorney will also serve as the on-call attorney as part of the elevation rotation once every 1-2 weeks and interact with clients, outside counsel, experts, and vendors as necessary to support case resolution. Contributing to refining the firm's settlement processes to ensure efficiency and consistency is also a key aspect of the role.
The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and have three to five years of experience in a high-volume personal injury or plaintiff’s firm. They must be an active member of a US State Bar in good standing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook and Word, and Adobe Acrobat is required. Excellent organizational skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to function well in a fast-paced, demanding environment are essential. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, along with excellent time-management skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities, are also necessary. The candidate should demonstrate empathy when dealing with clients in stressful situations and maintain confidentiality and discretion.
Preferred qualifications include experience with Salesforce or other CRM or case management software, as well as experience reviewing medical records and familiarity with medical terminology, especially for cancers and related conditions. This is a non-Partner-track position.
