2026 Summer Intern - Intellectual Property

Cellanome, a well-funded startup dedicated to developing next-generation technologies for cellular analysis, is seeking a Summer Intern to join our Intellectual Property team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in patent work within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

As an intern, you will contribute to drafting patent applications covering commercially relevant technologies and assist in assessing third-party patents to evaluate freedom-to-operate and landscape analyses. You will collaborate closely with R&D scientists to gather technical details essential for patent applications and work alongside patent agents and paralegals to understand legal processes.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated MS or PhD student in a biology-related field with a strong interest in patent law, either planning to attend or currently attending law school. Experience in areas such as cellular imaging, CRISPR editing and/or screening, machine learning, and transcriptomics is a plus.

This is a full-time, on-site internship located in Foster City, California, with an estimated pay range of $40-$45 per hour. Cellanome offers a comprehensive employment package, including competitive salary, generous stock options, individual and family health plans, and a 401(k) plan.
