Accounting Intern
Strongpoint Partners is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Intern to join our team in Chicago, IL. In this role, you will assist with accounts payable and receivable processing, support month-end and year-end closing procedures, and help prepare and maintain financial reports, spreadsheets, and journal entries. You will also perform bank and account reconciliations under supervision, assist with data entry, filing, and document organization, support audits and budget tracking as needed, and conduct research and analysis to support the accounting team. Ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards will be a key aspect of your responsibilities.
The ideal candidate is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A basic understanding of GAAP and financial principles is preferred, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks or NetSuite. Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential.
This part-time internship offers approximately 20 hours per week, following a hybrid work model with a few half days per week in our downtown Chicago office and the remainder of the work completed remotely. The position is expected to run from May through August 2026. The anticipated pay range for this position is $18-$20 per hour.
