AI Photography & Videography Lead
Canva is seeking an AI Photography & Videography Lead to join their Content Studio team, responsible for producing and scaling visual content that powers Canva's platform. This role is based in Sydney or Melbourne, Australia, and offers flexibility in work arrangements.
In this position, you will define and lead the creative strategy for Canva's photography and video content, ensuring a diverse and on-trend library that meets user needs. You will drive AI-first approaches to content production, utilizing AI to generate, enrich, tag, and scale photo and video assets efficiently. Collaboration with production teams, engineers, and product managers is essential to build tooling and workflows that enable large-scale content creation. Additionally, you will set quality standards and creative direction across photography and video, commissioning shoots, reviewing assets, and maintaining Canva's high standards. Contributing to Canva's AI Template Marketplace goals, where photo and video content is crucial, and coaching a team of photographers, videographers, and content producers will also be key aspects of your role.
The ideal candidate will have experience as a creative leader in photography and/or video, with a strong understanding of quality and craft. A genuine enthusiasm for how AI is transforming content creation, along with experience integrating AI tools into workflows, is highly valued. Proven leadership in guiding creative teams, setting direction, and fostering growth is essential. An understanding of operating at platform scale, managing millions of assets across various contexts, and the ability to balance creative ambition with operational rigor are important. Effective collaboration in cross-functional environments, partnering closely with engineers, product managers, and operations teams, is also necessary.
