AI & Product Counsel

This role is integral to managing legal risks and facilitating innovation within the company. As an AI & Product Counsel, you will collaborate closely with various business teams to provide strategic legal guidance and ensure compliance across product development processes.
In this position, your primary responsibilities will include reviewing AI-powered product features and technical specifications to offer practical legal advice while mitigating potential risks. You will lead company-wide AI reviews, conducting thorough assessments of technical details and balancing engineering requirements with legal frameworks to address complex challenges. Collaboration with engineering, product management, security, and privacy teams will be essential to integrate legal requirements seamlessly into the product development lifecycle. Additionally, you will communicate intricate legal concepts and technical insights effectively to diverse stakeholders across the organization and work cross-functionally to establish scalable processes for AI governance and product compliance.
The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree with over seven years of legal experience, combining both major law firm and in-house roles. Prior experience in product counseling or AI governance is highly desirable. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams are crucial. A creative problem-solving approach and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.
Compensation for this position is competitive, with base salaries ranging from $151,000 to $260,000 per year, depending on geographic location and individual qualifications. Additional benefits include an annual bonus of 0-20% of the base salary, comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, flexible spending accounts (FSA) and health savings accounts (HSA), long-term and short-term disability coverage, an employee assistance program (EAP), a 401(k) plan with company match, 18-21 days of paid time off (PTO) annually based on tenure, 12 public holidays, paid parental leave, and pre-tax commuter benefits.
