[Coupang] IP Legal Counsel (Copyright)

Coupang is seeking an IP Legal Counsel specializing in copyright to join our dynamic team in Seoul, South Korea. As a rapidly growing e-commerce leader, we are committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences and innovative solutions. The IP Legal team plays a crucial role in providing practical legal guidance to minimize intellectual property risks across the company.

In this role, you will advise on all aspects of copyright law, including retail, open-source licensing, image compliance, and brand protection. You will develop and implement guidelines to assist business units in navigating copyright matters efficiently. Additionally, you will address copyright issues related to music licensing, advertising, artificial intelligence, and cloud technologies, ensuring compliance both domestically and internationally.

The ideal candidate will possess a domestic or foreign attorney-at-law or patent attorney license with at least six years of relevant professional experience, including a minimum of three years focused on copyright matters. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, along with the ability to provide business-friendly and practical solutions. Experience in an in-house setting or the commerce field is preferred.
