The company is headquartered in Sydney, Australia, and has expanded its global presence with offices in London, UK, and Manila, Philippines. Canva's mission is to empower everyone in the world to design anything and publish anywhere.

The AI Technical Program Manager (Localisation) will join Canva's International Supergroup, a cross-functional team dedicated to driving growth and deepening adoption across key regions worldwide. This role involves collaborating with country teams, product teams, and AI/ML stakeholders to build the technical infrastructure for localisation at Canva. The position is based in London, UK, and offers flexibility in work arrangements, allowing employees to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

Key responsibilities include partnering with product, engineering, and machine learning teams to embed localisation quality signals earlier in the development cycle, establishing and maintaining documentation on localisation AI tooling, prompt libraries, and evaluation methodologies, and leading the refinement of Canva's AI translation pipeline. Candidates should have deep expertise in localisation frameworks and technologies, including LLM evaluations for translation (e.g., GPT-4, Claude, Gemini, open-source models like LLaMA), familiarity with machine learning techniques (e.g., RAG, LoRA), and translation quality evaluation metrics (e.g., BLEU, COMET). A builder's mindset is essential, with the ability to develop scripts and tackle new challenges. Experience with Smartling or other CAT tools, an understanding of product growth, and proficiency with SQL/data analysis are advantageous. A tertiary education in linguistics, languages, or localisation is preferred.

While specific compensation details are not provided, Canva offers a dynamic and inclusive work environment with opportunities for professional growth and development. Employees are encouraged to choose a work balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

Canva's culture emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to making design accessible to everyone.
