Analytics Engineer

The Analytics Engineer will join Alma's central Data team, which supports various business units, including Finance, Product, Marketing, Risk, and Operations. This team comprises six Data Analysts and operates at the intersection of Data Engineering, Data Analytics, and business teams. The role is based in Paris with a hybrid working model, and full remote work within France is also an option.
Key responsibilities include building and maintaining reusable data models, macros, and semantic layers in dbt and BigQuery, developing staging, intermediate, and mart models, implementing data quality tests, and improving data lineage and governance. The role also involves mentoring analysts, contributing to the data platform roadmap, participating in code reviews, and collaborating with Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver trusted and actionable data.
Candidates should have at least two years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Analytics, or a similar role, with practical experience in dbt, including models, tests, and documentation. A strong understanding of data modeling concepts, experience with Git and pull-request-based development, and excellent communication skills are essential. Familiarity with BigQuery, Looker, GCP, and Airflow or Argo is advantageous.
