APJ Lead and Senior Corporate Counsel
The APJ Lead and Senior Corporate Counsel at Okta is a pivotal role within the company's legal team, focusing on the Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) region. This position involves leading legal support for Okta's sales and professional services organizations, ensuring compliance and facilitating business growth in these markets. Key responsibilities include advising, drafting, and negotiating outbound SaaS master subscription agreements and other commercial documents related to the sales cycle, with a focus on large, strategic enterprise accounts, including customers in highly-regulated industries such as global banking, finance, and healthcare. The role also involves providing day-to-day legal support, responding promptly to legal requests from sales and other internal clients, and partnering with various internal teams to ensure agreements align with Okta's policies and processes.
The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of relevant transactional legal experience negotiating and drafting enterprise-level technology agreements, including SaaS subscription agreements, cloud services agreements, technology licenses, and professional services agreements. Additionally, 4+ years of in-house experience with a large technology vendor providing transactional legal support is required. Significant experience providing commercial legal support to sales teams calling on large, strategic enterprise accounts in North America, including those in highly-regulated industries, is also essential.
