The Asbestos Analyst / Occupational Hygiene Technician role at Eurofins is a full-time position based in Welshpool, Western Australia. This role is primarily laboratory-based, focusing on the analysis of hazardous materials, including asbestos identification in building materials and soils, as well as airborne fibre counting. Occasional fieldwork may be required to support various sampling activities. Key responsibilities include preparing samples for analysis in accordance with approved methods, performing routine analyses and validations efficiently, and conducting specific analyses such as respirable fibre counting, asbestos identification, inhalable and respirable dust analysis, and diesel particulate analysis. The role also involves carrying out field sampling activities like airborne fibre monitoring and dust monitoring, ensuring client requirements are met or exceeded, utilizing laboratory materials efficiently, and operating, calibrating, and maintaining laboratory equipment as required.

Candidates should possess a Certificate or Diploma in Laboratory Techniques or other relevant science-based tertiary education, or have significant field or laboratory experience. Experience in a commercial laboratory, particularly with asbestos analysis in building materials and soils, is advantageous. Fieldwork experience and associated record-keeping skills are beneficial. The role requires a proven ability to learn quickly and work under minimal supervision, excellent communication and organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in technical and time management tasks. Previous laboratory experience is well regarded; however, comprehensive training will be provided to the right candidate.
