Assistant Manager- RMS, Legal & Regulatory
The Assistant Manager- RMS, Legal & Regulatory at JioStar is responsible for overseeing the clearance, tracking, and management of intellectual property rights across the company's diverse content portfolio, which includes films, television, digital media, and emerging platforms. This role is integral to ensuring that all content is properly managed, licensed, distributed, and exploited in compliance with contractual obligations.
Key responsibilities include maintaining and updating rights management systems to reflect current ownership, terms, language, and territory/platform restrictions. The role involves inputting and validating contract metadata, such as rights in/out, holdbacks, and term expirations. Additionally, the Assistant Manager will work closely with production, legal, and content acquisition teams to clear rights, review and track licenses, permissions, and restrictions across content assets.
The ideal candidate should possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential, along with proficiency in Excel and data management tools. A good understanding of copyright, trademark, and contract law as applied to media rights is also required.
Preferred qualifications include an LLB from a reputed university and 3-4 years of experience in rights management, content clearance, or business/legal affairs within the media or entertainment industry. Familiarity with rights management software is advantageous.
