The Manager- Legal, Sports position at JioStar involves providing comprehensive legal support to the company's sports business division. JioStar is a leading global media and entertainment company, reaching over 750 million viewers weekly through its television network and streaming services. This role is integral to ensuring the legal integrity and operational success of JioStar's sports properties.
Key responsibilities include managing media rights tenders and documentation for acquiring sports media properties, reviewing and interpreting complex contracts such as sports media rights and slot sale agreements, and advising on operational queries from the business team. The role also encompasses providing legal guidance on ad sales initiatives, overseeing marketing activations for sports properties, and contributing to high-value projects like complex sports media rights bids. Additionally, the Manager- Legal, Sports will draft and navigate various contracts, including talent, endorsement, agency, sub-licensing, distribution, ad sales, production, and other service or operational agreements.
Candidates should possess strong legal acumen with 4-7 years of post-qualification experience, particularly in contract law and intellectual property rights, including copyright. A background in Tier 1 law firms with extensive M&A or general corporate experience is preferred. Prior experience in sports law is advantageous. Excellent communication skills, along with strong drafting and negotiating abilities, are essential for success in this role.
