Associate Director Data Science (Mensch)
As an Associate Director of Data Science at WPP Media, you will lead and develop a team of data scientists, driving the innovation agenda to maximize value for clients through data-driven approaches. Your role will be pivotal in enhancing the company's market position by implementing advanced data science solutions.
Your primary responsibilities include leading, motivating, and developing a high-performing team of data scientists, fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture. You will serve as the main point of contact for internal departments and top clients, translating complex data science insights into actionable recommendations. Managing the project portfolio, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets, and prioritizing initiatives based on business impact will be key aspects of your role. Additionally, you will monitor market trends and research developments in data science, facilitating the transfer of research findings into practical applications. Establishing and overseeing quality standards for data science projects and ensuring compliance with relevant data governance policies are also essential duties.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in data science, including at least 2-3 years in a leadership role with personnel management responsibilities. Proficiency in Python (including libraries such as Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch), SQL, and experience in developing and implementing machine learning models are required. Demonstrated experience with cloud computing platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including machine learning services and data warehousing solutions like BigQuery, is essential. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop teams to achieve high performance are crucial. Excellent communication and presentation abilities are necessary to effectively convey complex models to technical teams and provide strategic advice to executives and clients. A strategic mindset and business acumen to understand complex business challenges and develop data-driven solutions that deliver measurable results are also important.
