The Associate Director, Strategy at WPP Media is a pivotal role within the central adidas EU Brand Planning team, responsible for shaping the strategic direction of major pan-European campaigns. This position involves leading the development of innovative strategic frameworks, translating complex insights into compelling media strategies, and guiding their execution across specialist hubs and 19 local market teams. The role requires fostering strong relationships within the agency network and with senior client stakeholders to ensure robust strategic foundations for campaigns.

Key responsibilities include developing and building relationships with clients to become a trusted advisor on account requirements, setting viable objectives and KPIs, and recommending or developing measurement methodologies against all briefs. The role also involves deploying best-in-class digital implementation across client portfolios, ensuring projects and campaigns are tracked and measured based on agreed KPIs and media efficiencies, and integrating campaign strategy and planning with wider communications. Additionally, the Associate Director will assist in training and up-skilling client account teams, manage and interpret clients' digital performance data, and deliver high-value services such as digital workshops, content solutions, performance marketing, social and mobile projects, and competitor intelligence services.

The ideal candidate will have 6-7 years of digital experience, preferably with an agency background, and be an independent, self-driven individual with a highly responsible nature. They should possess the ability to work in a matrix organization, managing complexity and challenges, and have a proven track record in the execution and development of digital strategies for clients. Experience in managing media briefs, budgets, and aligning digital strategy with global brand strategy is essential. Chinese competency is a must, either Mandarin speaking or the ability to read and write Chinese if not spoken fluently. An understanding of the China digital space is a major plus.
