Charles River Associates (CRA) is a leading global consulting firm specializing in economic, financial, and business management expertise. Their Intellectual Property (IP) practice applies deep expertise in finance, accounting, and economics to the valuation of intellectual property assets, including patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and copyrights. This practice serves clients across various industries, such as software, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and consumer products.

As an Associate in the IP practice, you will collaborate closely with senior consultants on project teams, assisting in the development of financial, accounting, and economic analyses to support case theories. Your responsibilities will include conducting industry, market, and competitive research to build an independent fact base, reviewing and summarizing client documents and third-party research, and performing interview-based research with client representatives, government entities, and industry associations. Additionally, you will contribute to the production of research summaries, expert reports, and presentations of findings, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of analyses.

Ideal candidates should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related analytical discipline. Up to three years of relevant work experience in accounting or financial/economic analysis is preferred, though recent graduates are also encouraged to apply. A solid working knowledge of finance, accounting, and economic methodologies, along with strong research and quantitative analysis skills (including proficiency in Excel), is essential. Effective written and oral communication skills, a high level of initiative and leadership, and strong teamwork and collaboration capabilities are also important.

CRA offers a comprehensive total rewards program, including a superior benefits package and wellness programming to support physical, mental, emotional, and financial well-being. The firm provides in-house immigration support for foreign nationals and international business travelers. CRA fosters a work environment that enables colleagues to benefit from being together in the office to best deliver on career growth, mentorship, and inclusivity. While recognizing the benefits of periodic remote work, the firm currently expects individuals to spend at least three to four days a week working in the office, with specific days determined in coordination with your practice or team.

Joining CRA's IP practice offers the opportunity to work on high-stakes litigation, mergers and acquisitions, licensing negotiations, regulatory compliance, and tax matters. The firm emphasizes a collegial environment, formal and informal training opportunities, and a broad array of professional development resources. This environment provides exposure to leading minds who use economic, financial, and business analysis to solve complex world problems for an impressive roster of clients, including 94% of the top 100 law firms, 80% of the Fortune 100 companies, and government agencies around the globe.
