Billing Coordinator

Clifford Chance US LLP is seeking a full-time Billing Coordinator to manage the client billing process for a designated group of partners. This role involves direct communication with partners, managing associates, and secretaries to oversee various aspects of client billing. The position is available in any of our three US offices: New York, Washington DC, or Houston, TX, and reports to the Billing Supervisor.

Key responsibilities include preparing and distributing monthly prebills, processing revisions from partners and associates, and ensuring timely approvals for finalizing bills. The Billing Coordinator will also handle the submission and monitoring of e-bills, maintain accurate records within the firm's document management system, and proactively communicate with billing partners regarding matter billing status and special arrangements. Additionally, the role involves monitoring Work in Progress (WIP) provisions, ensuring compliance with client agreements, and coordinating with the Accounts Payable team to resolve any discrepancies.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of relevant legal billing experience in a law firm or professional services environment. A bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance is preferred. Essential skills include superior client service, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent time management, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and e-billing software. The candidate must be detail-oriented, capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment, and legally authorized to work in the United States.

Clifford Chance US LLP offers a comprehensive benefits and compensation package. The salary range for this role is $78,000 to $94,000, commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.
