The Brazilian Portuguese Language Owner at Headout is responsible for overseeing the localized experience for Brazilian Portuguese-speaking users across all platforms, including the website, app, microbrands, and marketing channels. This role is integral to the Localization Team and involves close collaboration with product, design, and marketing teams to ensure that all content is culturally relevant, accurate, and engaging. Key responsibilities include defining and maintaining style guides, terminology, tone, and linguistic standards to ensure consistency and quality across all content. The Language Owner will leverage AI and automation tools to refine machine translation outputs, improve style consistency, and optimize language workflows. Conducting linguistic quality assurance and audits, including machine translation post-editing and in-app localization quality assessments, is essential to identify and address quality issues. Additionally, the role involves driving SEO and ASO performance through keyword research, metadata optimization, and localized content enhancements to boost visibility and organic growth. Creating and optimizing localized marketing and UX copy, running A/B tests, and using effective workflows to increase engagement and conversions are also key aspects of the position. Tracking language KPIs and performance metrics using analytics tools like Looker will help identify opportunities and refine language strategies. The Language Owner will also co-manage and mentor freelancers, providing guidance and training to maintain consistency and improve output quality. Representing the language in cross-functional collaborations with content, product, and performance marketing teams is crucial to align priorities and ensure language needs are incorporated into planning and execution.
The ideal candidate is a native Brazilian Portuguese speaker with excellent English communication skills and a deep understanding of Brazilian cultural nuances and market context. A minimum of three years of experience in marketing translation, localization, or copywriting is required. Solid SEO knowledge, including experience in keyword research and performance monitoring, is essential. Proficiency with translation management systems like XTM, content management systems, and localization workflows is necessary. The candidate should possess a strong analytical mindset with experience interpreting content performance metrics, preferably using tools like Looker. Proven ability to drive market growth by optimizing language assets and improving workflows is important.
