Business Controls & Governance - Assistant Vice President
iCapital is seeking a Business Control Associate or Assistant Vice President to enhance the firm's operational foundation by establishing a robust first line of defense (1LOD) business control framework. This role involves risk identification, control design, execution, and testing, as well as implementing scalable processes and data-driven insights within the Business Controls and Governance team. The individual will collaborate closely with Operations and Investment Product Management leadership, Compliance, and Risk teams to ensure consistent risk and control outcomes across the organization.
Key responsibilities include designing, documenting, and enhancing business processes and controls; executing recurring control activities such as evidence collection and quality checks; developing appropriate controls for operational initiatives; maintaining control inventories; preparing governance materials and dashboards for senior leadership; and analyzing operational data to identify trends and process inefficiencies. The role also involves supporting incident management, evaluating control effectiveness, and contributing to audit and regulatory readiness.
The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in business controls, risk management, operations, or data-driven operational roles, preferably within fintech, wealth management, or financial services. A basic understanding of alternative investments and related operational workflows is essential. Proficiency in creating executive-ready presentations and dashboards, knowledge of operational risk frameworks, and the ability to interpret data to drive operational improvements are required. Strong communication skills and familiarity with regulatory frameworks are also important.
