The Internal Business Development Consultant at Strongpoint Partners plays a pivotal role in driving company growth by converting inbound interest into advisor relationships and new retirement plan opportunities. This position serves as the initial point of contact for financial advisors exploring retirement plan solutions, operating at the intersection of marketing, sales, and relationship development. Strongpoint Partners is a tech-enabled retirement services platform dedicated to serving small- to mid-sized businesses with integrated retirement third-party administration, recordkeeping, payroll, and HR solutions.
Key responsibilities include managing and qualifying inbound retirement plan leads generated through marketing campaigns, partnerships, and referrals. The consultant will engage financial advisors, consultants, and referral partners to understand their business and retirement plan needs, build and maintain a pipeline of qualified opportunities, and ensure timely follow-up and progression. Additionally, the role involves partnering with field sales and National Accounts teams to transition opportunities, supporting advisor meetings, proposals, and presentations, and educating advisors on retirement plan design, compliance considerations, and TPA services.
Candidates should possess 2–5 years of experience in financial services, sales, business development, or client relationship management. Exposure to retirement plans, financial advisor distribution, or institutional sales is preferred. A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is also preferred. Proficiency in CRM platforms, sales tools, and Microsoft Office is essential. Key competencies include strong relationship-building and communication skills, the ability to quickly establish credibility with financial advisors, high organization with strong follow-up discipline, curiosity and willingness to learn retirement plan structures and regulations, a collaborative mindset, and a results-driven, proactive approach to business development.
