Business Development Manager, Japan
Headout is seeking a Business Development Manager to join our APAC Business Team, focusing on expanding our presence in Japan. This role involves driving commercial success and market growth by collaborating with supply partners and travel experience providers to enhance our offerings and deliver exceptional value to customers. The position reports to the General Manager - East Asia and offers the opportunity to shape Headout's growth in one of the world's most dynamic travel markets.
Key responsibilities include launching new cities by identifying, reaching out to, and onboarding new supply partners and distribution-side partnerships in Japan. The role also involves nurturing relationships with existing supply partners to leverage them for additional growth. Collaboration with internal stakeholders across Operations, Tech, and Marketing is essential to ensure smooth execution of partnerships and growth of bookings. Additionally, the role requires analyzing market trends and providing market and competitor analysis to optimize business strategies.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in business development, preferably in consumer tech startups. Fluency in Japanese and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, is essential. A global mindset and comfort working with people from different cultural backgrounds and time zones are important. The candidate should possess strong analytical skills and a start-up attitude—highly collaborative with an entrepreneurial mindset and not afraid to roll up their sleeves. Experience working with a CRM and a willingness to learn and use new tools are also required.
Compensation for this role includes a salary starting from 6.5 million yen, negotiable based on experience.
