Business Development Representative
The Business Development Representative (BDR) at 8am is a pivotal role within our dynamic sales team, focusing on outbound prospecting to support our suite of products. This position offers a solid foundation for a long-term career in technology sales, emphasizing proactive engagement and collaboration with sales and marketing teams. 8am, formerly known as AffiniPay, is a professional business platform dedicated to empowering legal, accounting, and other client-focused professionals to run more profitable businesses.
Key responsibilities include conducting outbound telephone-based prospecting to develop and maintain a high-level knowledge of 8am's legal practice management software. The BDR will identify and prioritize sales opportunities through direct prospecting and lead follow-up, maintaining a call volume of 75–100 calls per day to qualify key leads and create a robust sales pipeline. Additionally, the role involves updating and maintaining the sales database, conducting targeted marketing campaigns, and reporting on weekly results.
The ideal candidate possesses strong written communication, phone, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with experience in selling technology and/or software. They should be highly organized, demonstrate strong time management abilities, and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment with minimal direction. A demonstrated ability to learn and articulate complex subject matter is essential.
Compensation for this role includes a base salary ranging from $50,000 to $52,000 USD annually, plus an uncapped commission opportunity.
