Business Development Representative
Baselayer is seeking a Business Development Representative to join their dynamic team in New York City. As a rapidly growing company, Baselayer specializes in providing intelligent business identity solutions, assisting over 2,000 financial institutions and government agencies in verifying businesses, automating Know Your Business (KYB) processes, and monitoring real-time risk. The Business Development Representative will play a pivotal role in driving the company's growth by generating new sales opportunities and expanding the customer base.
In this role, the Business Development Representative will be responsible for identifying and generating new sales opportunities through both inbound qualification and outbound outreach. Utilizing a consultative approach, they will qualify leads by uncovering pain points and aligning Baselayer's solutions accordingly. The representative will execute outbound sequences across email, phone, and LinkedIn to create qualified meetings, conduct account research to identify high-potential prospects, and maintain accurate activity records in HubSpot. Collaboration with Account Executives will be essential to coordinate handoffs and drive pipeline conversion. Additionally, the role involves supporting field and event-driven pipelines, including attending sponsored and company events as needed.
Ideal candidates will have at least one year of experience in a high-performance environment, such as finance, fintech, consulting, venture capital, or sales. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with a proactive, self-directed mindset and high activity levels. Organizational habits and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role. A bachelor's degree from a four-year university is required. Familiarity with sales engagement and dialing software, such as Nooks, and experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator are advantageous.
Compensation for this position includes a base salary range of $75,000 to $95,000, plus commission.
