Case Manager
Morgan & Morgan, a leading personal injury law firm dedicated to protecting the people, not the powerful, is seeking a Case Manager to join their team in Chicago, Illinois. As a Case Manager, you will be responsible for managing a varied caseload, assisting attorneys in developing settlements, and preparing necessary documents and correspondence. Your role will involve daily interactions with existing and potential clients, both via telephone and in person, to ensure effective communication and case progression.
Key responsibilities include ordering medical records from providers, obtaining documents to support injury and liability positions, and interacting with insurance carriers and healthcare providers to secure records and account balances. You will also work directly with multiple coworkers involved in the management and support of case files, maintain organized case files, prepare comprehensive demands, and assemble support for submission to carriers. Additionally, you will interact with attorneys and present case synopses when required, managing case files from intake to closing under the direction of an attorney.
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree and have prior experience as a Personal Injury Case Manager. At least 2 years of experience in a legal position or as an insurance adjuster is preferred. Strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage workload with minimal supervision are essential. Proactive interaction with clients, insurance companies, and medical providers is crucial, along with strong writing and communication skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and typing at least 35 words per minute is required.
