Case Manager
Morgan & Morgan, a leading personal injury law firm dedicated to protecting the people, not the powerful, is seeking a highly organized and empathetic Case Manager to join their team in Charleston, South Carolina. As a Case Manager, you will play a pivotal role in assisting attorneys with developing settlements, preparing documents, and managing a varied caseload. The ideal candidate will be customer-focused and possess strong organizational skills.
In this role, your key responsibilities will include daily interactions with existing and potential clients via telephone and in person, ordering medical records from providers, and communicating with clients and providers during the course of treatment. You will obtain necessary documents to support injury and liability positions, interact with insurance carriers and healthcare providers to secure records and account balances, and negotiate case settlements with insurance carriers. Additionally, you will work directly with multiple coworkers involved in the management and support of case files, maintain organized case files, prepare comprehensive demands for submission to carriers under the direct supervision of an attorney, and manage case files from intake to closing under the direction of an attorney.
To be considered for this position, candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree (preferred) and prior experience as a Personal Injury Case Manager. At least 2 years of working in a legal position or insurance adjuster experience is preferred. The role requires the ability to be a team player, proactive interaction with clients, insurance companies, and medical providers, and the capacity to multi-task, prioritize, and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision. Strong writing and communication skills, attention to detail, and extensive computer and database expertise, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, are essential.
