Commercial Counsel

Databricks is seeking a Commercial Counsel to join its legal team in Bellevue, Washington. This role involves providing legal support for Databricks' commercial operations, including drafting and negotiating contracts, advising on legal risks, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Commercial Counsel will collaborate closely with sales, procurement, and other internal teams to facilitate business transactions and protect the company's interests.

Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements, such as customer contracts, vendor agreements, and partnership deals. The role also involves advising internal stakeholders on legal and regulatory matters, managing legal risks, and developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance. Additionally, the Commercial Counsel will provide training to internal teams on legal topics and support the legal department in other areas as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and be admitted to practice law in Washington State. A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial contracting, preferably in the technology industry, is required. Strong negotiation skills, the ability to analyze complex legal issues, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Experience working with cross-functional teams and a proactive approach to problem-solving are also important.
