Sr. Counsel, Public Sector

Databricks is seeking a Senior Counsel to support its growing public sector business, focusing on U.S. federal and state, local, and education (SLED) sectors. This role involves leading public sector SaaS transactions, including master cloud services agreements, subcontracts, and responses to RFPs/RFIs. The Senior Counsel will also draft and negotiate professional services Statements of Work (SOWs), emphasizing intellectual property protection and data rights within an AI and data-driven ecosystem. Collaboration with cross-functional teams across U.S. public sector sales, finance, operations, deal desk, product, and security is essential to ensure agreements reflect and protect the company's interests. Additionally, the role includes advising internal clients on government contracting nuances, particularly concerning the deployment of emerging AI technologies, and proactively evaluating potential opportunities and risks related to contractual, regulatory, compliance, and financial matters.
