Stripe is seeking an exceptional transactional lawyer to join our commercial legal team supporting our rapidly growing business in the Americas. In this role, you will support the AMER Sales team by leading negotiations for complex and strategic agreements and advising on a wide range of commercial and legal issues, including the launch of new products to Stripe users and support for international expansions. You will work closely with Product Legal to bring new products and features to market and be an integral part of building out Stripe’s commercial legal infrastructure to scale and operate efficiently in line with our exponential growth. This includes drafting and maintaining agreements and playbooks, leading and contributing to projects that improve internal processes, and leveraging AI tooling to optimize collaboration with clients, partners, and users.

The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of relevant experience in-house or in a technology practice group in a top law firm and be qualified with good standing membership in at least one US state bar with a JD degree or foreign equivalent. You should be intellectually curious and a creative problem solver, proactive with a strong sense of ownership, a clear and concise communicator who can distill key risks and explain complex issues in simple terms, and a natural collaborator able to guide cross-functional teams to win-win solutions. Familiarity with legal issues and commercial risks related to hosted data and technology services is essential, and you should be a team player willing to contribute to collective success.

Preferred qualifications include experience working in the payment or fintech industries with knowledge of associated regulatory issues, in-house experience advising high-growth companies, working knowledge of LLM tools, experience in improving legal processes with AI technology, and a working knowledge of data protection laws such as CCPA, GDPR, and HIPAA.

Stripe offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $209,500 to $314,300 per year, along with equity. Additional benefits and perks are available to support our employees' well-being and professional growth.
