Compliance Senior Specialist
Wise, a global technology company specializing in international money transfers, is seeking a Compliance Senior Specialist to join its North America Regulatory Oversight Compliance team. This role is integral to managing Wise's regulatory obligations, particularly in response to ongoing regulatory changes and policy management. The Compliance Senior Specialist will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance as the company scales.
In this position, the Compliance Senior Specialist will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing proposed and final regulations from key U.S. regulators, such as the CFPB, FinCEN, OCC, FTC, and state banking departments like NYDFS. They will establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of the horizon scanning program and provide data-driven analysis to the business. Additionally, the role involves supporting compliance in conducting impact assessments for new laws and regulations, translating complex regulatory requirements into actionable business and product requirements for internal teams.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of money transmission, consumer compliance regulations (including Reg E, UDAAP, and the E-Sign Act), financial crime regulations (such as OFAC, FinCEN, and BSA), and compliance management systems. A minimum of three years of experience in a compliance, risk, or legal role within a fintech company, money service business, or another regulated financial institution is required. Proficiency in synthesizing complex regulatory updates into actionable data trends and establishing metrics to measure compliance program effectiveness is essential. Experience working with internal cross-functional stakeholders, including product, operations, finance, legal, and people teams, as well as effective communication with external stakeholders like auditors and regulators, is also necessary.
